uses EarthAware™ biodegradable (EGDC) and recycled material (RGT)
for strong, durable air pillows that improve protection while reducing
packing and shipping costs yet are environmentally friendly.
Biodegradable DuraClear™ 2000
(EGDC) is a linear low density polyethylene that contains a proprietary
additive that causes biodegradation of the poly in nine months to five
years, depending on exposure conditions. Material performance properties
and shelf life remain in tact, as biodegradation only occurs when in
contact with other biodegrading material, such as the conditions found
in landfills, home and commercial composting. EGDC pillows biodegrade
in both aerobic (with the presence of free oxygen) and anaerobic (without
the presence of free oxygen) conditions. |

allow quick and easy separation of the pillows for fast and efficient
packing. In a recent study, this EZ-Tear feature - exclusive to AirPouch
- required an average of 83% less effort to pull and separate the pillows
than other competitive brands. Packers using AirPouch air pillows prefer
the ergonomic handling they get from the AirPouch pillows. These specially
designed perforations also allow more air into each pillow, providing
a better yield and lower cost per cubic foot.
